About DuPont, WA
DuPont is a city with a rich history, beautiful trails, and championship golfing. Visitors can stay at one of the five hotels in the area to experience all that DuPont has to offer. The city was named after the E.I. DuPont de Nemours Company, which built an explosive manufacturing plant and Village in the area in 1906, attracting hundreds of workers and their families to call the area home. In 1976, Weyerhaeuser bought the 3,200-acre former explosives plant site from the DuPont Company with the intention of using it as the site for a wood products export facility.
